The town of Assiniboia is excited to announce that they will be hosting the 34th annual Saskatchewan Country Music Association (SCMA) Awards.
The awards show will take place Saturday, June 10 at the town's new Southland Co-op Centre arena.
Local talent from all over Saskatchewan will be coming to participate in the festival. Well-known country artists, including The Washboard Union, will be making special appearances during the weekend.
Sharon Shauenberg, Mayor of Assiniboia, is overjoyed at the opportunity to host an event at this level.
"We are thrilled," Shauenberg exclaimed. "To bring an event of this caliber to our community is huge!"
Schauenberg mentioned that the community has been buzzing with excitement. Many people from Assiniboia and surrounding area have been asking about when tickets go on sale, and online conversations are happening frequently on Facebook.
"I think when the tickets go on sale on Friday, I don't know that there's going to be many left by the end of the day." Shauenberg chuckled.
Schauenberg thinks this festival will be a great opportunity for visitors to discover the beauty of small-town Saskatchewan.
"We're excited for people to come see us, shop in our stores, peruse our streets, visit our attractions, and get wowed by what we have to offer here!"
Tickets go on sale March 17th at 10:00 am. Get yours now at sasktix.ca!
