Save some room for dessert this Friday evening and attend the Fellowship and Dessert Night fundraiser being put on by Rock Solid Refuge.
Taking place at Eastside Church of God, Dallas Block Executive Director of Rock Solid Refuge says they are looking forward to seeing the community come out.
"What we want to do that night is just gather people around us again that are interested in what we're doing and have been a part of what we're doing in many different ways from the southwest of Saskatchewan. We just appreciate it so much, the support and really the collaboration with people here in the southwest. So we want to get people together again."
Rock Solid Refuge offers a twelve-month live-in treatment program as Block explains.
"Rock Solid Refuge runs a twelve-month live-in treatment program for young people with life-controlling issues like substance addiction and those kinds of things. We work with 13–18-year-old guys and we have students that come to us from across Canada. So, it's neat that this little southwest corner of Saskatchewan really serves an incredibly important need for people all across the country."
In addition, Block says the evening will be an opportunity to hear stories from students, former students, parents, and perhaps even grandparents. Some students are also musically talented and Block says they will be performing.
There is no cost for the event and no need to register. Doors will open at 6:30 pm followed by a dessert served at 7:15 pm. Funds raised will be used towards the programming Rock Solid Refuge offers.
