Swift Current Municipal Detachment was alerted of a possible fraud involving three individuals on March 27. 

The individuals in question were using suspicious gift cards at a local business on North Service Road East. 

Investigators were able to identify, locate and arrest the three individuals. 

Several suspected fake gift cards were seized. 

Swift Current General Investigation Section then obtained a Search Warrant for a vehicle and a hotel room. 

As a result of the warrant, RCMP seized a number of suspected fake gift cards, as well as equipment believed to be used in the production of fake gift cards.  

As a result of the investigation, the three individuals are facing criminal charges. 

Two of the accused, 39-year-old Michael Joel Mckenchie and 37-year-old Nicole Marie Belsher, of Moose Jaw, are each facing one count of fraud not exceeding $5,000 and one count of using a forged document. 

The third individual, 39-year-old Christopher Johnathan Nesvold, of Saskatoon, is facing one count of fraud not exceeding $5,000, one count of using a forged document, and one count of failing to comply with a release condition. 

Mckenchie and Belsher were released on conditions and will appear in Swift Current Provincial Court on April 26. 

Nesvold was held for court to appear on March 29.
