Private clinics are following suit after the Saskatchewan Health Authority announced that they are returning to pre-COVID health protocols.

Masking and physical distancing will no longer be required for patients, staff, or visitors. As well, food sharing and food donations are no longer prohibited.

Dr. Brad Thorpe is the local medical director for Alliance Health in Moose Jaw. He says that masking will now be optional in all their facilities.

"Staff may or may not wear masks at their discretion," Thorpe commented. "Patients are given the opportunity to wear a mask if they would like to, but we are not forcing them to."

However, Thorpe added that patients that present symptoms including coughing, running nose, or sore throat will be asked to mask upon entry into the building.

"A lot of our staff are choosing to continue to mask, but not all of them," Thorpe remarked. "Quite a few of the positions are continuing to mask [as well]."

The SK Vax Wallet app is also being discontinued later this month. Effective April 30, the app will no longer be available in app stores.

If people wish to obtain COVID-19 vaccination records, they can do so by logging into their MySaskHealthRecord (MSHR) account.
