Categories

UPDATE: Thursday, Apr 20, 2023, 6:00 AM

Wet subject to freezing roads, along with already existing icy sections are present around West Central highways this morning.

The Kindersley region was still reporting seasonal as of this morning, but now the entire region is looking at winter driving conditions as of 7:00 AM.

A good amount of ice was originally being reported all the way to Saskatoon, and travel is not recommended in more places headed east.

No immediate roads are showing travel not recommended, but people should stay alert with a temperature hovering around 0 today.

Check the Highway Hotline for updated information.

UPDATE: Wednesday, Apr 19, 2023, 4:00 PM

Saskatchewan is in the middle of a spring snowstorm.

Taking a look at the Highway Hotline locally, as of 10:00 AM all roads around Kindersley were still reporting seasonal. That is obviously subject to change, as a good majority of local highways are currently reporting winter driving conditions with the storm making its way towards the Alberta border.

The West Central Online weather radar is showing light to moderate precipitation continuing to make its way west. Taking a look below, the heavy stuff still could rear its ugly head locally and pass over the majority of the region.

Some are getting it a lot worse than others, as a quick look at the province's highway situation shows road closures and travel not recommended throughout the southeast. Ice covered roads and a heavy snowpack make up the main culprit.
