Joyce was born in Carberry, Manitoba on January 7, 1936. She passed away peacefully at F. H. Wigmore Hospital in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan with her family by her side on December 16, 2022.

A Celebration of Joyce’s Life will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Andrews United Church, 60 Athabasca St, E., Moose Jaw, SK. Pastor Doug Shepherd will officiate. The interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery.

Joyce was predeceased by Allan Gurnsey, her husband of sixty-one years. She is survived by her sons Dave (Brenda), Vern (Kandy), Trevor (Teresa), and Dean (Kim); grandchildren Marie (Peter) McKay, Carrie (Brian) Meanley (and their mother, Esther), Sean (Cheryle) Gurnsey, Tara (Cam) Nedelec and Jaeleigh (Josh Sinclair), Jonah and Jacksen Gurnsey; and great-grandchildren Claire and Katelyn McKay, Anna and Carmen Meanley, Alannah, Theoren, Evan and Aleah Gurnsey, and Dayne, Brayden, and Jonnae Nedelec; sisters-in-law Isabel and Jackie Lintott, June Matters, and Eva Gurnsey; and brothers-in-law Don (Alice) Gurnsey and Tom Webb.

She was also pre-deceased by her parents, Howard and Clara Lintott; brothers Ernie (Elsie), Bert (Margaret), Clarence (Henriette), Gordon and Fred; brother-in-law Ray Gurnsey; sister-in-law Julia Webb; and daughter-in-law Doreen.

Over the years in Moose Jaw, Joyce was involved in many United Church boards and committees. She was also active in the Moose Jaw Horticultural Society, the Prairie Hearts Quilt Guild, and the Moose Jaw Scrabble Club.

The family wishes to thank the staff of F. H. Wigmore Hospital, Chateau Saint Michael’s, and The Bentley for their compassionate care.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Diabetes Canada 2404 Thayer Ave #7, Saskatoon, SK S7L 5X2. In living memory of Joyce, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Ltd.
