Brayden King, a country singer from Weyburn, finished in the top-55 on the latest season of American Idol.

King performed in front of notable superstars Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie.

"I wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be," King recalled. "Two days before my audition, we were doing some filming for the show. I ran into Luke and Lionel and got to have a quick little chat with them."

King said that it was nice to make that connection beforehand because it made the audition room feel like a safer space to be in.

"I sang an original song called 'Down That Road' and they really dug it," King exclaimed. "Luke said it was a mix between Chris Stapleton and Ed Sheeran. I'll take that any day of the week!"

King said his favourite part of the whole experience was the bonds that he made with the other contestants behind the scenes.

"We all got to stay in the same hotels. We would bring our guitars to one room, hang out, jam, write and share songs," King remarked. "To be in the presence of such incredible people and talent, it was so motivating and exciting!"

King just released his latest single, "Livin' The Dream". You can check it out on Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming platforms.
