Kids from Gibbons, Redwater, Morinville, and Mundare will be learning about business through a classic kid's activity - lemonade stands.

Registration is now open for Lemonade Day, (Jun. 17) a free experimental program that teaches kids how to operate a business through their lemonade stands. Those who register will attend 'Lemonade University' where they receive a backpack with an entrepreneur workbook.

This notebook includes lessons such as how to set a goal, make a plan, and achieve your dreams. The program also has instructors who will lead the kids through the workbook.

"Lemonade Day is open to kids, kindergarten to high school," said Amanda Robinson with Lemonade Day. "Participants of Lemonade Day keep all the money they earn. However, the program encourages themĀ to spend some, save some, and share some."

In 2022 alone, 900 kids from Alberta registered for the program, raising $12,000 for local charities.

"Anyone and everyone can be involved in Lemonade Day," added Robinson. "Young entrepreneurs with lemonade stands need mentors, investors, business partners, great locations, and customers. Sponsors and volunteersĀ are also needed to make Lemonade Day a success."
