Thousands affected by Airdrie power outage

Thousands of Airdronians are without power this morning.

Fortis Alberta is working on the issue, and the estimated time of restoration is at 8:30 a.m. 

The power has been out since approximately 5:30 a.m.

The lights are out along much of Main Street Airdrie, and many businesses are affected.

The Airdrie Fire Department along with the City of Airdrie are on scene and have blocked off some roadways in the city's core. 

Some traffic lights are out as a result of the outage.
