Nate Glubish will return as the MLA for Strathcona-Sherwood Park.

Glubish will be in the position for the next four years after defeating NDP candidate Bill Tonita with 53 per cent of the popular vote.

"Elections are always a lot of hard work. They involve door knocking, a lot of phone calls, town halls, and forums," said Glubish on his campaign. "This election was no different."

He told FortSaskOnline.com he was happy with the result.

"We put in the work. We ran a good, clean campaign. I'm proud of how we ran things, and I'm grateful to the residents of Strathcona-Sherwood Park for giving me the opportunity to represent them one more time."

Glubish added that with the election over, he'll spend a bit of time with his family.

"Tomorrow I'm going to sleep in and spend some time with my three-year-old son," said Glubish. "He's been missing his daddy, and family is super important to me."

He was first elected as MLA during the 2019 election, winning over NDP candidate Moira Váne with 52 per cent of the popular vote.

Between the spring of 2019 and October of 2022, Glubish served as Minister of Service Alberta. He was succeeded by Morinville-St. Albert MLA Dale Nally.

Glubish was most recently serving as the Minister of Technology and Innovation.

All election results are unofficial until June 8.
