Fort Saskatchewan has announced the headliners for this year's Canada Day festivities.

This year's entertainers include one local act, one provincial act, and one national act.

"Starting us off for the evening entertainment is a network artist, a great huge label, someone that many people in the community may already know, it's Martin Kerr, " said Josh Gennings with the Shell Theatre.

Kerr is an award-winning folk artist from Edmonton known for performing over 400 live shows during the pandemic through his Stay Home Street Concerts.

Following him up will be a gentle giant with a knack for being a singer-songwriter.

"Country music is in his blood, you're going to love Trevor Panczak when he hits the stage just after Martin," said Gennings.

This award-winning 6'5" country music singer from Lethbridge has sold over 25,000 albums and is known for his smooth voice and energetic live shows.

The final act of the night will inject a bit of a Celtic feel into the night.

"A band out of B.C. called The Paperboys," said Gennings. "They are a Canadian treasure,  a global touring sextet that plays everything from Celtic reels to Mexican folk, fiddle tunes, New Orleans brass band, classical pop, bluegrass, there is everything with these guys!"

The group formed in Vancouver back in 1991 and has travelled all over the world performing including in Norway, Scotland, England, and France.

They were also the winner of the 1998 Juno Award for best roots and traditional album.

These performers will be preceded by a slate of afternoon musical acts as well that you can read about here
