Italy picked up their first win in Group B at the 2023 World Para Ice Hockey Championships, defeating Germany 1-0 in a shootout this morning at the Moose Jaw Events Centre. 

Neither team got on the board after regulation time as the score was tied 0-0 after three periods of play. Italy’s Nils Larch and Christoph Depaoli scored in the shootout for the win. 

Germany will now face China tomorrow morning and Italy plays Norway tomorrow afternoon to finish off their round-robin play. 

 

In Group A action, Team USA improved its record to 2-0 with a 9-0 win over Korea.

Declan Farmer led the way for the Americans with a hat trick, while Evan Nichols also added a pair of goals.

Goalie Griffin Lamarre only had to make six saves to earn the shutout.

With the loss, Korea's record falls to 0-3.

 

Team Canada outshot Czechia 22-10 on their way to a 2-1 victory last night at the 2023 Para World Ice Hockey Championship at the Moose Jaw Events Centre. Tyler McGregor scored first - and got named Player of the Game. Adam Dixon - while on the power play - scored the game-winner. Netminder Dominic Larocque turned away 9 of 10 shots faced.

Team Canada is in action again tonight as they face Team USA at 7 at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.
