It was a big weekend for the U15 Busters Pizza Arsenals.

The Fort Saskatchewan soccer team competed at the Edmonton West Zone Soccer Association's Spring Challenge, previously called the Slurpee Cup.

"The girls were really excited to get into any tournament," said coach Brendon Lamarche. "The whole team was there."

In their Friday night game, the Arsenals secured a 3-1 win over Beaumont, before winning 2-1 against the Spruce Grove Saints the following day.

The gold medal match was on Sunday, where the Arsenals took home silver after losing 5-1 to the Collingwood Lightning.

"We can always take away something to improve on," said Lamarche. "We actually hadn't lost a game since May 1, so this was the first game of the season we lost. Since then, we haven't lost another game, so it was a good reminder to still realize that we can lose."

The Arsenals are now playing their regular season, where they currently sit in a tie for second place in the standings.

"If we keep playing and winning like we've been doing the last month, we have a good chance at getting into provincials."

The Arsenal's next game is on June 5, where they'll be playing against the Spruce Grove Soccer Association at Pryce Alderson Park at 6 p.m.
