Provincial parks in Manitoba will be offering free access this coming weekend.
The weekend of June 9-11 also happens to be free family fishing weekend.
Greg Nesbitt is Minister of Natural Resources and Northern Development for Manitoba. He says summer is almost here and he knows that Manitobans treasure these warm, late spring weekends.
"Throughout this weekend, residents and visitors will be able to fish for free while also enjoying free access to our beautiful provincial parks," adds Nesbitt.
This coming weekend, anglers can reel in their catch of the day across the province without the need for a license, except in national parks where a federal license is still required. All other rules and regulations including size limits, still apply as outlined in the 2023 Manitoba Angler's Guide.
Vehicle permits will not be required to visit provincial parks from June 9-11. However, regular camping fees will still apply at provincial campgrounds.
Park visitors are encouraged to check provincial park conditions as there may be temporary closures or advisories. Before setting up camp, visitors should check for the latest fire restrictions and remember only make fires in approved fire pits.
