There were hot cars and hot deals in LeRoy on Saturday for their Show and Shine and Trade Show on Saturday, June 10.
Main Street was lined with all manners of vehicles, including a pair of Roadrunners and their rival cartoon namesakes. Some vintage trucks were on the scene and something for motorbike enthusiasts to gaze at.
Down at the LeRoy Arena, trade show vendors displayed their wares while local families took advantage of the beautiful weather to set up in their yards for the town wide garage sale.
“We’ve had a really good turn out,” said Amy Schreiner, recreation director for the town. “Along with the car show and the trade fair, we’ve got a silent auction table, a door prize, a joker board, 50/50 tickets – all kinds of fun stuff.”
The proceeds all go back into the community through the rec board and the various activities they sponsor and promote.
“It's mostly geared toward the kids in town. We do a summer camp, we do a Canada Day celebration, a haunted house, a Santa Claus Day. We rely mostly on grants for funding, but there are things that just aren’t covered by the grants, so we fundraise to cover the costs.”
It was the perfect Saturday to stroll through the community, visit with the neighbours, and enjoy another great summertime event in the town of LeRoy.
