Swift Current was filled with excitement as renowned Elvis impersonator, Rory Allen, took the stage in a concert aimed at raising funds for a much-needed van for seniors at The Meadows.

With a whopping 380 attendees filling the gym of Ecole Centennial School, the Rory Allen concert proved to be an unforgettable experience.

Tracy Schlamp, Co-chair of the Silver Wings Access Van Committee Incorporated, expressed her admiration for the talented performer.

“Rory is just a prize,” she stated. “He is charismatic, he engages with the audience, and those classic songs, he just is right spot on. He sounds wonderful.”

Attendees were captivated by Allen's stage presence and vocals, with Schlamp noting the tremendous engagement from the crowd.

"It was great,” she added. “It was really fantastic."

The event served not only as a source of entertainment but also as a significant milestone in the fundraising efforts for the senior van project.

The concert's success marked a significant step towards achieving the goal of acquiring a customized, accessible van for the residents of The Meadows.

The project aims to raise $140,000, and the funds generated from the concert, coupled with the sponsorship from SIGA for the recent Community BBQ, have propelled the fundraising efforts forward.

Schlamp expressed her appreciation for the community's support, emphasizing their commitment to continuing fundraising activities to reach their target.

“We sure appreciate everybody's support, and we'll just keep on fundraising and doing different things,” she concluded.
