The Swift Current Airport will be home to not just aircraft this weekend but also the drag races.
Races will be taking place Saturday and Sunday with various classes for entry as secretary for the Swift Current Drag Race Association, Al Kaufman explains.
"We're going to have a sportsman, pro, super pro, plus also a junior, junior street and high school class racers."
Kaufman says any individuals with regular cars are invited to bring them down as he says there is a class for everything.
Gates for the races will open at 8am and racing should begin by 11am.
Kaufman provides details on what spectators can expect.
"Lots of different types of cars racing down the track, really loud engines. Along with entry fee spectators are allowed to go into the pits and see the cars and talk to racers if they want to. "
After this weekend the next races will be taking place September 9th and 10th and a rainout date from their last event is scheduled for September 30th and October 1st.
