Country music sensation Meghan Patrick is gearing up for an electrifying performance at Swift Current's highly anticipated Frontier Days.

Despite her busy summer schedule, Patrick couldn't resist the opportunity to add this show to her lineup, citing her profound love for the people of Saskatchewan and the incredible experiences she has had performing in the province.

"I don't think I've ever not had a great time playing in Saskatchewan in general,” she elaborated. “I love the people there, I feel like they get me, and I get them."

The talented artist, who was born in Bowmanville, Ontario, expressed her excitement to return home to Canada and reconnect with her fans.

“It always feels like coming home and especially during the pandemic, it was so hard because I couldn't even go home for two years almost, and couldn't really play shows, and I wasn't able to release a lot of music during that time,” she elaborated. “I had so much anxiety coming back, like, ‘Did everybody forget about me? Do they still love me?’ And the first few shows back were just incredible.

“I'll say this, I think Canadian fans are so loyal and they've been amazing to me, so, I'm grateful that they show me that love.”

The upcoming show in Swift Current holds special significance for Patrick as she will be showcasing her latest EP along with beloved fan favourites.

The EP, titled 'Greatest Show On Dirt,' only recently hit the airwaves on May 5, with Patrick noting it felt like a more natural fit than releasing a full-length album.

"I wanted to ensure that these songs, which I'm incredibly proud of, were given the chance to be heard and appreciated individually. Releasing smaller amounts of music more consistently allows for a deeper connection with each song."

Preparing for the Swift Current show, Patrick and her band have been working diligently to create a captivating and unforgettable experience for the audience.

While Patrick has graced massive stages in the past, she acknowledges the unique charm of smaller community shows.

“Playing those really big shows, that's an incredible feeling and you're excited to be there and like you get these big crowds, but I also feel like sometimes these smaller communities, I just feel like they are so much more appreciative of what they're experiencing because maybe they don't get as much entertainment as often as like some of these bigger festivals,” she noted. “I just feel like it's a little bit more intimate, which I like because at the end of the day, of course I love playing for big crowds, I want to play for big crowds, but it's really important to me that I'm really connecting with the audience to where I'm creating a long-term connection. “

You can see Patrick in Swift Current on July 1, located at the Kinetic Park Grandstands.
