The Swift Current Kinettes are teaming up with the annual Chili Cook-Off at The Center to host an exciting dunk tank fundraiser, set to make a splash in the community this Saturday at Market Square.

The event aims to bring together the thrill of dunking local personalities while indulging in delicious chili, all in support of a great cause.

Swift Current Kinette, Tracy Prang, shared the exciting details of the upcoming dunk tank extravaganza.

“We are doing a dunk tank for your community, we are going to do it in conjunction with the Centers Chili Cook-Off this Saturday at Market Square,” she elaborated. “The firemen, the ambulance, and the police will have their annual cook-off down on First Avenue, and we decided that we would put together a dunk tank and try and raise some funds as well.”

The dunk tank will feature a courageous lineup of local figures, including Swift Current Online’s very own, Hayden Michaels.

“We do have Laura Toner that's going to be there from Scotia Bank, we've got Hayden Michaels from Golden West Radio, we have a couple of police sergeants, some 57 ballplayers, some redneck betties with some local firefighters, and we do have the coach of the Swift Current Broncos also,” Prang explained. “So, we have a great lineup of folks.”

Prang added that there will be a variety of pricing options to ensure it is accessible to anyone who would like to participate.

“It's five dollars for the three balls, if you don't think you're going to be able to dunk them quite as easily, we still have a solution for you,” she stated. “Five balls for 20 dollars and if you can't get them down with those five balls, we're going to make arrangements to be able to give a guaranteed dunk with that.

“So, everybody is going to get wet and everybody's going to be able to dunk their favourite participant.”

The first participant will step into the tank at 9:30 a.m., with the last participant of the day taking over at 2:00 p.m.

The funds raised during the event will be donated to The Center.

“We will be giving a very nice donation to the Center the week following this event, we think they're a great asset to our community and they do such great work with our youth,” Prang concluded.
