At Fort Saskatchewan's weekly farmers market, residents can get a look at tons of local businesses from around the area.

One of these businesses, Reckless Designs, was created by Kathy and Vanessa King, a mother-daughter duo based out of Fort Saskatchewan who have been selling their unique designs for the last three years.

"For the most part we focus on drinkware and stuff," said Vanessa. "That's kind of what we aim to stay with, but we also do all kinds of stuff like cutting boards, dishes, and all kinds of stuff."

Vanessa added that they'll go anywhere that lets them set up a booth, having also sold their goods as far as Blackfalds and Leduc.

"It's a lot of fun. It's exciting and different. You get to meet new people and get new ideas. We do custom stuff, so everyone has something they want."

The work involves sublimation, which involves cooking the design into the cup. Some of their big sellers include a cup designed to look like a Red Bull can, and plenty of designs featuring Disney characters.

"Our most popular design would be anything with Stitch on it. It always goes super fast."

After selling at the Christmas Market and other local events, Vanessa and Kathy decided to try their luck at the farmers market last summer.

"This year came around and it was something we couldn't pass up," added Vanessa. "It's been really good. We've gotten to meet a lot of people. Aside from one day of rain, it's been nice enough that everybody wants to be out there."

Vanessa hopes that the success of their business will lead to them one day opening up shop in Fort Saskatchewan.
