Gloria Louise Borczuch
Gloria Borczuch passed away at the Douglas Campbell Lodge on June 25th after a courageous battle with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
Gloria was born April 27th, 1946 in Winnipeg at the St. Boniface Hospital and grew up on her family farm in Langruth, Manitoba. She graduated from Langruth High School in 1964 and Brandon Teacher Training in 1965. She taught school in High Bluff and Sanford.
In 1967 she married Alex Borczuch. They worked in Thompson and then The Pas where their son Shane was born in 1971. They continued to work in northern Manitoba for several more years in Jenpeg, The Pas, Sundance and Gillam.
Alex and Gloria moved to Portage la Prairie in 1994. Gloria worked for one and a half years as a Resource Teacher in Sandy Bay before retiring. After retiring Gloria worked for a year at Barney's Menswear in their alterations department.
Gloria volunteered at the MCC making quilt tops. She enjoyed working with the other volunteer members of the Portage Quilters Guild for several years.
Predeceased by her brother Ron, Gloria is survived by her husband Alex, son Shane and many cousins.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 29th – 1:00 p.m. at Omega Funeral Home, 83 Royal Rd. S., Portage la Prairie. Viewing will take place one hour prior to the service.
