Katy Nichole is opening up about her struggles with anxiety and depression in her latest single, 'Hold On".

Nichole says although her latest single is incredibly important to her, it is difficult for her to talk about it because it is such a deep dark part of her story.

"I dealt with a lot of anxiety and depression in my life. At one point, I even had suicidal thoughts," said Katy Nichole in an Instagram post.

She says at the lowest point in her life, she picked up a bottle of pills and took them to the bathroom with her.

"When I did, there was nothing in my path, but that bottle of pills fell onto the floor and spilled. And at that moment, I felt God saying to me,' Hold on. I'm not done yet.'"

Katy picked up those pills and threw them in the trash can because she knew God still had a plan and purpose for her life.

"I hope this song can encourage you and remind you that your life matters so much, and you can hold on because you have a purpose."

Katy Nicholes's music career started after a simple song created from her prayer journal went viral on social media.

"I started Tik Tok in 2020 when quarantine started, and everyone had nothing to do. I got a little momentum going. I posted every week. I made different videos. Some were music-related, others were not. This was just a regular week when I posted this video of a song called 'God of Possible'. I didn't have any expectations for this video. I didn't know what it was going to do," said Katy.

Since then, she has released her first studio album, Jesus Changed My Life, which features 'Hold On' and many other great singles.
