The honorary parade marshals for the Canada Day parade in Fort Saskatchewan have been announced.
On Monday (June 26), The city sent out a release announcing that Stollery kids and their families will be leading the parade, representing the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation.
"Every year, the city takes the opportunity to spotlight an organization or individual that goes above and beyond in the immediate or surrounding community and anoints them the honorary marshals for the parade," The City of Fort Saskatchewan wrote in their release. "The Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation works to advance children’s health care to give all kids the best chance to live a long and healthy life."
With close to 100 floats, the Canada Day parade lasts about an hour on any given point of the route, starting at the Jubilee Recreation Centre before heading down 101 Street and into downtown Fort Saskatchewan.
Residents are asked to bring lawn chairs, blankets, sunscreen, bags for candy, and Canadian flags.
