There are plenty of Canada Day events going on in the area.

Canada Day is right around the corner.

On July 1 all across the province, there will be no shortage of parades, pancake breakfasts, and other festivities for all to enjoy.

Fort Saskatchewan is expecting a huge turnout for Canada Day with temperatures expected around 22 C, according to our forecast. You can read more about all of Fort's Canada Day plans by clicking here

As for those living outside of Fort Saskatchewan, here are all of the Canada Day events going on in the area:

Strathcona County

Strathcona County will be hosting their Canada Day celebrations at Broadmoor Lake Park, with plenty of indoor and outdoor events.

The day gets started with a free pancake breakfast at the Community Centre at 9 a.m. before festivities get started an hour later.

Throughout the day there will be activities such as caricature artists, face painting, and entertainment from plenty of artists around the area, with Current Swell headlining the event at 9:45 p.m.

The night ends with a firework show at Broadmoor Lake Park, starting at around 11 p.m.

Morinville

Morinville's Canada Day celebrations kick off at noon in the Morinville Community Cultural Centre. 

Over the course of three hours, there will be tons of activities for children, including inflatables, a craft station, a photo booth, and even free cupcakes handed out by the mayor and city councillors.

There will also be a musical performance by local band Jam Bandy, who plans on playing a variety of popular songs.

All activities, with the exception of food trucks, will be free. 

Bruderheim

Bruderheim's Canada Day celebration gets started at 8 a.m. with a breakfast fundraising event at the Community Hall.

At 10:30 a.m. a parade begins at the Karol Maschmeyer arena, which features ribbons and prizes.

The day will also feature free hot dogs served at the Community Hall at noon, and a Canada Day cake later in the hour at the gazebo. 

If rain is present during the celebrations, the activities for children will be moved inside the arena.

Alberta Legislature - Edmonton

The Alberta Legislature is famous for its Canada Day celebrations. From noon until 5 p.m. there will be tons of activities on the Legislature grounds.

The events kick off at the Violet King Henry Plaza for the singing of O Canada. After this, the Queen Elizabeth II building will be open to the public while the Legislature's Chamber floor will be open to the public.

In the Legislature South Grounds, there will be interactive entertainment, including a magician, balloon twisting demonstrations, and even a crafts tent.

At the Alberta Diversity Stage and Alberta Discovered Stage, there will also be live music playing from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Finally, the night ends with fireworks over the river valley around 11 p.m.
