Severe thunderstorm watch issued for Southwest

At 12;33 p.m., Environment Canada issued at severe thunderstorm Watch for Swift Current, Herbert, Cabri, Kyle, and Lucky Lake. 

Current conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms, which are capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail, and heavy rain. 

Residents are advised to keep an eye on the sky and remember that thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. 

Be prepared for severe weather and take cover immediately.

Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
