The last day of Frontier Days is kicking off today, with fun for the whole family

CCA Rodeo 

Just in time for the CCA Rodeo Slack at 9:00 a.m., in the Magnus Newland Arena, the South and West gates of Kinetic Park will open at 8:00 a.m. 

The Canadian Cowboys Association Rodeo will begin at 2:00 p.m. 

Livestock 

Across the way in the Bernie Kemick Arena, the 4-H Steer Show and Showmanship will begin at 9:00 a.m. 

At 2:00 p.m., in the grass arena, the 4-H Goat Show will commence, followed by 4-H presentations at at 3:00 p.m., and the 4-H Steer Sale at 4:00 p.m. 

Parade 

At 10:00 a.m., the Frontier Days Parade will depart from the Innovation Plex parking lot and head west on Chaplin Street. 

This year’s theme for the parade is ‘Let’s Celebrate!’ 

Flag Raising 

A flag raising will take place at 12:00 p.m., at Memorial Park. A free meal afterwards will offer a hot dog, water and Canada Day Cupcake - provided by the City of Swift Current and Southwest Newcomer Welcome Centre.   

Mennonite Heritage Village and Doc’s Town Heritage Village 

Also at 12:00 p.m., the Mennonite Heritage Village will open it’s doors to the public and will remain open until 7:00 p.m., while Doc’s Town Heritage Village will open at 1:00 p.m., and stay open until 8:00 p.m. 

At 4:30 p.m., Doc's town will be hosting a home cooked pulled pork meal. 

Commercial Exhibits Tradeshow 

The North Gate will open to the public at noon, in conjunction with the Commercial Exhibits tradeshow located inside the Stockade.  

Featuring a vast variety of vendors from the southwest, the tradeshow will remain open until 8:00 p.m. tonight. 

West Wing Gallery 

Guests to the West Wing Gallery can begin exploring art at 1:00 p.m. The art is all made by talented individuals from Swift Current and the surrounding areas. The West Wing Gallery will close at 5:30 p.m. 

Flying Aces Pig Races 

Back in action once again, the baby pigs will be hitting the track at 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. 

iCulture Stage 

The iCulture Stage, nestled inside Hansen Park, will be displaying a variety of music and dancing from various cultural groups from southwest Saskatchewan. 

At 1:00 p.m., the stage will be bustling for the Frontier Days Beard Contest, with special guest judges, The Washboard Union. 

A Philippine folk dance, called Tinikling, will take over the stage at 2:30 p.m., while Bollywood Dancing takes place at 4:30 p.m., followed by Colombian Traditional Dance at 5:30 p.m. 

Canadian Raptor Conservancy Show   

The majestic birds will be back at 1:00 p.m. inside the Palliser Pavilion. Attendees can visit a Harris Hawk, a Turkey Vulture, and a Western Screech Owl. 

The following shows will take place today at 3:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. 

Grandstand Concerts 

At 8:00 p.m., Kalsey Kulyk and her husband Eric Eldridge will be replacing Meghan Patrick as one of the headliners due to weather conditions in Nashville. 

The Washboard Union will follow closely behind Patrick at 9:00 p.m. Fans can look forward to hearing favourite songs such as ‘Shot of Glory’, ‘Country Thunder’, and ‘Dock Rock.’ 

Fireworks 

The Living Sky Casino Fireworks Show will begin at 11:00 p.m. in the Grandstands. Big Bang Fireworks Inc. will be supplying world-class fireworks. 

Cabaret  

Following the concerts, a Cabaret will take place in the tent by the Grandstands. Featuring the band, ‘Rock Candy,’ the event will begin at 11:00 p.m. No minors are allowed at the Cabaret.
