Fatal collision on Trans Canada Highway over long weekend

Over the long weekend, Morse RCMP responded to a collision, which took the life of a 36-year-old male. 

At approximately 5:15 a.m., on July 2, police were called to the scene on Highway #1, located near Chaplin. 

The investigation determined that the vehicle came to rest in a body of water after leaving the roadway. 

Identified as a 36-year-old male from Sherwood Park, Alberta, the driver was pronounced deceased by EMS at the scene. His family has been notified. 

The adult female passenger was transported to the hospital via STARS with serious injuries. 

The collisions remain under investigation, and the Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionists and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service are assisting.
