RCMP think that a man responsible for the 2021 killing of a woman in Strathcona County might be in British Columbia.

24-year-old Bith Chuol is alleged to have murdered 29-year-old Vanessa Silva after police discovered her remains in a vehicle fire on Township Road 530 and Range Road 221 back in September 2021.

Another suspect in the murder, 25-year-old Cordell Kennedy, was arrested in May 2022.

As a result of the investigation, police have charged Chuol with the following:

  • First-Degree-murder
  • Kidnapping
  • Breaking and entering
  • Extortion

Police say that Chuol is now believed to be in the Surrey, B.C. area. People are asked to avoid Chuol as he is believed to be armed and dangerous. Sightings should be immediately reported to the RCMP.

This follows the Chuol's initial warrant for arrest which issued back in February.

Chuol is described as:

  • Dark complexion
  • 6'4''
  • 140 pounds
  • Black hair
  • Brown eyes

Information on Chuol's location should be sent to the Strathcona County RCMP at 780-467-7741. Anonymous tippers can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
