The Innovation Credit Union is determined to show members that they will continue to have a local presence after becoming the first federal credit union headquarters in Saskatchewan late last month.

As a result, Innovation has announced a five-million-dollar Legacy Community & Development Grant Fund for Saskatchewan residents and projects within the province.

In a press release, Innovation CEO, Daniel Johnson, stated that the fund is meant to support local members and the communities they call home.

“Our current membership and community base are what made us who we are today,” he stated. “We’ve created this legacy fund to earmark dollars for Saskatchewan initiatives, to continue to reward and support our local members and their communities.”

For the current community grant program, 26 recipients were chosen for the year, 12 of which are located in the Southwest.

Johnson added that in 2023, Innovation doubled its sponsorship budget as a way to thank members for their continuous support.

“Saskatchewan is our home, it’s an honor to help it grow and thrive,” he concluded.

Member organizations can begin to apply online for grants by visiting innovationcu.ca.
