“The reception we’ve got so far from the farms in the area is one of excitement to have these brands represented here.”
Abe Penner, General Manager of the recently opened LMS Ag Equipment in Steinbach, is excited to become part of the community of Steinbach & surrounding areas.
LMS Ag Equipment is a farm equipment dealership with roots in Morden, MB. What began in 1987 as a small family farm implement dealer owned and operated by Henry Penner and a business partner, has grown and expanded to carry a full line of products to serve the modern-day farm. They are excited to offer brands like Versatile, Precision Planting & the full line of AGCO products including, Fendt, Massey Ferguson, Hesston, TerraGator, Rogator and many more top brand products. LMS is a second-generation family business, with Henry’s sons Abe and Will currently taking the reins.
“To have a family-based business where a farmer can come talk to myself, my brother Will, or our business partner Tom, and to just have that family experience… that is very important to us,” Penner shares. “And ultimately, our faith is what we base all our decisions on.”
With core values of faith, family, and farm, the team at LMS Ag hopes to replicate their success in Morden within Steinbach.
“We feel the brands that we offer are a great fit for South East Manitoba,” Penner shares. “And we’re excited to become part of this community, developing relationships with all the farmers of the area, as well as the rest of the community.”
Penner hopes to draw attention to a newer brand in the Canadian Market, but highly reliable name- Fendt, manufactured in Germany.
“Fendt is a well-known brand, especially in Europe. Kind of an elite product, a luxury brand.” Penner continues. “There are a lot of farms in this area that are familiar with the name, but it wasn’t well represented. We’re excited to fill that void, bring the brand to the community, and provide the service excellence experience that is expected of a prestigious brand like Fendt.
While LMS Ag is already open for business, construction of their new building is still a few weeks from completion. However, the LMS Ag team is already looking ahead to their official Grand Opening.
“We’re planning a big party on July 27th! We have a lot of dignitaries coming to join us. We also have a bunch of executives from AGCO and Versatile coming by. It will be a great time to meet and greet people, learn about our brands and open our new building to the community. We will be providing snacks throughout the day as well as a free lunch, everyone’s invited to join us. You can meet the staff and enjoy a great meal together.”
Another feature of the event is the mini trade show. LMS Ag has partnered with many of their short line manufacturers, that will be taking part in the event.
“One of the things that we will be focusing on at the mini trade show is the exciting new technology,” Penner shares. “We will have suppliers and representatives from companies here, showing off some of the latest and greatest technology, with a focus on spraying and precision planting.”
Guests of all backgrounds and careers are invited to attend this event, and to bring the rest of their crew, too.
“It goes back to our core values,” Penner adds. “We want to make this a family event. There will be a bouncy castle for the kids, food, drinks & some sweet treats. It’ll be just a great place to bring your family and enjoy this day with us.”
The LMS Ag Grand Opening happens Thursday, July 27th starting at 10am. Find them down Highway 12 North in Steinbach, and at www.lmsag.ca.
