Police have arrested an Edmonton man following a robbery in St. Albert.

St. Albert RCMP has charged a man with robbery after an incident at a Canadian Tire.

On Wednesday (July 12), Canadian Tire staff confronted a man who they thought was shoplifting. The man was reported to have brandished a knife and threatened customers as he left the store.

Police responded to the robbery, locating the suspect in the green space behind St. Albert Centre.

Dorian McBean, a 38-year-old Edmonton resident, was charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Theft

McBean was released from custody and will be expected to appear in St. Albert Provincial Court in August.
