Court case for human trafficking incident at southwest restaurants begins

Two individuals made their first appearance in Rosetown court yesterday regarding a human trafficking case which involved restaurants in Gull Lake, Elrose, and Tisdale. 

52-year-old Sohel Haider, from Elrose and 41-year-old, Mohammed Masum from Tisdale made their first court appearance after initially being arrested and charged on June 29. 

Masum was charged with one count of trafficking a person and three additional counts of sexual assault while Haider faces one count of trafficking a person. 

At yesterday's appearance, the case was adjourned to September 14, in Rosetown court. 

Both Haider and Masum will be held in custody until their next appearance.
