Heavy rainfall expected in the area

Environment Canada has sent out a rainfall warning for Monday (July 17) evening.

According to the warning, heavy rain will begin this evening and may exceed 50mm before the rain leaves the area. 

Heavy rain can lead to water pooling on roads, and even flash floods. 

The rainfall warning applies to:

• Fort Saskatchewan
• Sherwood Park
• Edmonton
• St. Albert
• Sturgeon County 
• Lamont County

The rain is expected to taper off Tuesday afternoon.
