George Arthur Rehbein, age 86, of Cabri, and formerly of Central Butte, passed away on July 12, 2023 at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current. George is survived by his wife Gayle, daughter Cindy Rehbein (Larald Shaw), sons Tobby (Bev Gardner) and Michael. Six grandchildren and two great granddaughters. He was predeceased by parents Ferdinand and Elizabeth Rehbein and in-laws Henry and Agnes Olson. Two brothers Frank and Ernie, Sister Elsie and two foster brothers Warren Baker and Lloyd Morris. George was born at Central Butte, Saskatchewan on May 13, 1937. He attended Hayfield School. He married Gayle Olson on April 25, 1959. He farmed his entire life, living on his uncle’s farm, which was located next to Kettlehut Lake. He also drove school bus for nearly 20 years. He served as a councillor for the RM of Enfield, from 2001 to 2020. He was well known for his ability to fix machinery, vehicles of all makes and snowmobiles. He also enjoyed working on older tractors and his project was an International W6 that he restored at the age of 80. At George's request there will be no formal funeral services.
