Numerous events are set to take place in the Southwest this weekend, offering a wide variety of events for residents and visitors alike. 

Community Invasive Plant Pull 

Help remove invasive species this morning with the Swift Current Creek Watershed Stewards as they host a community invasive plant pull. 

The event will take place at Remple Community Gardens, located just off 11th Avenue Northeast. 

Members of the community can participate in preserving the biodiversity of Swift Current from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  

Market Square  

From 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., individuals can enjoy fresh food, live music, local vendors and much more in downtown Swift Current. 

Dodgeball Tournament 

Swift Kinsman Club and Sask Dodgeball are teaming up today for a charity dodgeball tournament. 

The tournament, which kicks off at 10:00 a.m., is open to the public and is free of charge, with an option to donate to Telemiracle.  

Located at the Stockade, the event will be catered by Louie D’s. Additionally, a beer garden will open at 1:00 p.m.  

The tournament will wrap up at 6:00 p.m. and will be followed by a cabaret. 

Colour the Lake 

Lac Pelletier will be extra vibrant today for the Colour the Lake event. 

Runners donned in white will make the five-kilometre trek while being coated in a variety of colours. 

Upon returning, the colourful participants can enjoy a barbeque to round out the day. 

Check-in begins at 9:00 a.m. and the run will begin at 10:00 a.m. 

The barbeque will run from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and will feature Bouncy castles, face painting, glitter tattoos, and more. 

No registration is required to attend. 

Kyle 100th Anniversary and Rodeo 

The town of Kyle is in for a remarkable celebration this weekend as they celebrate their 100 anniversary and 47’s annual rodeo. 

Events will begin at 7:00 a.m. this morning with a free breakfast, which will be followed by a parade. 

The CCA rodeo will kick off at 5:00 p.m. and will feature a large variety of events including a kids mutton busting during intermission. 

Saturday’s events will conclude with a centennial dance. 

Events will wrap up on Sunday with a free breakfast, a second performance of the CCA Rodeo, and a centennial supper at Elks Hall.
