British Columbia had a tough time getting the runs rolling in their first game with the U18 Team Sask. team.
BC kicked off the game in the first inning with a triple from Carter Cathers as he tripled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
Saskatchewan evened things out at the top of the second inning scoring one run and scoring another in the fifth inning due to an error.
Team Sask. was relentless in the sixth inning, scoring five runs. The offensive onslaught was led by Colin Plain and Joel Bauml, all driving in runs in the inning.
Team Sask’s Merek Yeager started the game by surrendering one run on one hit over three innings, striking out three and walking zero.
Saskatchewan lefthander Jevon Parent lasted four innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out two.
Next game takes place Friday, August 18 at Ross Hennigar Park at 2:00 pm, when they take on Ontario.
