After 12 weeks of playing every Tuesday at the Rotary Republic of Manitobah Park, the Portage Beach Volleyball League has officially ended.

On Tuesday, the top four teams went head-to-head to see who would claim first place. That spot went to first-timers in the league, The Amigos.

Jana Laing, one of the players, says she is thankful for the fantastic volleyball and loved playing against everyone.

“I would encourage everyone to come, no matter what your skill level; everyone has lots of fun; it is a good time to get out and exercise.”

Brett Foley, a player from another team, Fam Jam, and one of the league organizers, says there was a league a couple of years ago, but it died down due to a lack of interest. However, he is glad to bring it back after a couple of years.

“It was super fun. It was nice to see some of the returning teams play and many new teams, too. We love to see everybody come out and have fun.”

Foley notes they hope the league will continue for years to come, and he cannot wait to see what it will blossom into over the coming years. To learn more details about the Beach Volleyball League, you can go to their Facebook Page by clicking here.
