The annual Kindersley Goose Festival is quickly approaching, and the Kindersley Chamber of Commerce is getting things ready to go.
Executive Director of the Kindersley Chamber of Commerce Kevin Martin explains just some of the things plans for the weekend.
"The Kin Klub is going to be doing their Duck Derby, the United Church is going to be having their burgers and pies for sale once again. Better Together Kindersley is doing their barrel trains and bicycle obstacle course on Main Street after the parade, and the car show is once again scheduled."
The main focus for the weekend for the Chamber is the parade and Martin said things are looking good right now, but they could use some help with security for the parade.
"The Rotary Club is going to be handling our parade security again and they have done an awesome job the past few years. And I believe we may need a few more volunteers to help with that."
Martin added if you have an event you want to do, or something you want to put on for the Goose Festival, please call the Chamber office at 306-463-2320 and they would be happy to set you up with something.
The Goose Festival runs from September 22 to 24.
The Chamber of Commerce also held its golf invitational over the weekend and Martin was very happy with how things played out.
"We had an unbelievable amount of support from our hole sponsors and from our companies that donated prizes, etc. it was just amazing. We're quite thankful for everyone who came out and to all of our sponsors who helped us make it an excellent day, and a great fundraiser for us."
63 golfers in all came out to take part in the invitational, and there was lots of laughter and good times according to Martin.
