Randall (Randy) Robert Sauder passed away on August 26, 2023 after a heroic battle with cancer with his family by his side.
Randy was born in Swift Current on April 22, 1960 and has lived here his whole life. Randy is survived by his wife Barb Sauder; his son Cody Hagman (Kortney); his daughter Ashley Sauder (Eric Goyer); his most adored grandson Oliver Hagman and his little queen granddaughter Quinn Goyer; his sister Bonnie Christopher; sister-in-law and brother-in-laws: Larry Carleton, Pat and Randy Hlady; his mother-in-law June Carleton, and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Leonard and Emma Sauder; father-in-law Albert Carleton; sons Ryan and Christopher Sauder; his sister Jackie Fetch; brother-in-law Jay Christopher, and sister-in-law Myra Carleton.
Randy worked for the Pioneer Co-op in Swift Current as Petroleum and Fertilizer manager for many years and can still remember most people’s co-op number to this day. He then ventured out into doing something he loved, construction. LNR Homes was created and many homes were built in Swift Current and area. He is known for his hard work ethic, never stopping or giving up. He believed in the “gentleman’s way” where a hand shake still meant something. He was always there to lend a hand or help in anyway. Randy and Barb were fortunate to be able to travel to many places, USA, Mexico, Hawaii Peru, Ecuador and the Caribbean with his favorite place St. Maarten where they have a vacation home. Randy loved to cruise as well, especially for the food. Gaining 22 pounds on a 10 day cruise. The staff learned to bring double or triple everything.
Golf was Randy’s passion. He loved the game. He was able to golf right up to the end by pure will and determination. He also loved fishing and hunting and taught his kids to have a love for the great outdoors.
Randy was a kind, generous man who loved life. We will keep his memory alive with the many stories we have of Randy over the years. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Randy’s request for donations to be made to the Swift Current Wildlife Federation.
