As the days grow shorter and the summer breeze makes way for the crispness of fall, the Swift Current community is gearing up for the annual Citywide Connection event, marking the transition of seasons.
Taking place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. this evening at the Stockade, Citywide Connection serves as the successor to the well-remembered Citywide Registration explained Brad Woods, with the City of Swift Current.
“There's still some registration opportunities, but it's more about getting people out, connecting with different groups and nonprofits in the city and looking for activities to fill up your fall and winter,” he elaborated.
The event offers opportunities for individuals of all ages Woods added.
“There's something for everyone,” he stated. “We’ve got from preteen right into your older ages that want to stay active in the community.”
More than 33 groups representing sports, recreation, culture, and community event services will be present at the event.
“Whether you're a new community member or whether you're somebody that's been born and raised here, there's lots of opportunities to connect with these groups and there's lots of returning groups from previous years,” Woods explained. “But we also have some new groups as well, and people that have cycled back in so, it should be a great night.”
In addition to exploring community groups, attendees will have access to the Fall-Winter Community Services Guide, a comprehensive resource outlining various programs offered by the city throughout the season.
