A year after making some major life changes, including leaving her life of macabre and the occult, Katherine von Drachenberg (Kat Von D) has found God.
In July of last year, Kat Von D, tattoo artist and former reality TV star, said it was time to clear out her library of magic, witchcraft and tarot books.
"I’ve come to some pretty meaningful realizations — many of them revolving around the fact that I got a lot of things wrong in my past," said Von D on Instagram. "I’ve always found beauty in the macabre, but at this point, I just had to ask myself, what is my relationship with this content? And the truth is, I just don’t want to invite any of these things into our family’s lives, even if it comes disguised in beautiful covers, collecting dust on my shelves," said Von D on Instagram.
Late last week, Kat Von D took the next step and posted a video of her getting baptized.
"Katherine von Drachenberg, upon your profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and in obedience to his divine command, I baptize you, my sister, in the name of the Father and the Son and the holy spirit. Amen."
In the video posted on Instagram, using a cross in the caption section, you see Kat singing in the choir, followed by her being baptized by the pastor as she wears a white robe. Immediately after the baptism, Kat is seen hugging the pastor before the crowd breaks out into applause.
Several fans of Kat took to social media to congratulate her on her decision.
"I am a former stripper and sex worker who was deep into witchcraft, Satanism and spiritism. I opened a lot of demonic doors, and never believed in God, but he chased me down just like he says he will chase after his sheep. Amen 🙏🏼 🙌🏼 he is good and faithful. The best thing you can do is surrender your life to him," said one fan on Instagram.
Another person wrote that she was a former Playboy model and exotic dancer before God found her.
"I fully renounced my former way of life over a year ago and have since fully returned to the faith. The life I led opened doorways to the demonic I did not know I had opened. The forces of the underworld can influence your will and your body, but no one is ever robbed of a second chance. God makes ALL things NEW."
Kat Von D is also in the process of having many of her tattoos blacked out.
"It’s extremely refreshing for me to see all the garbage, drunken tattoos I had scribbled all over my leg that I got before I became sober, be covered by sleekness and simplicity," said Von D.
