The Central Manitoba Youth Choir is sharing the gift of music with Southern Manitoba this weekend.

Kate and Beth Giesbrecht are sisters and are excited to be in the choir together this year.

This will be Beth's third year in the choir. She shared her favourite part of being in the Choral ensemble.

"The best part is we have15 shows in a span of like 5 days. So, just seeing how our car gets better from Thursday to Monday is really, really fun. As a group we get to like, 'Ohh we made a mistake in this song.' And then, in the next performance we fix it. Although it's tiring when we have that many shows, it's really fun because we get to kind of change it up and see what works and what doesn't. So, that's my favourite part."

Kate, who is in her first year, agreed.

"Yeah, I think it will be good. Lots of friends and family will come out and it will be a good time. We encourage everybody to come and that way, we'll have a full crowd." Adding her favourite part of being a part of CMYC, "I would say our quality of music, we sound amazing and it's really fun. I think everybody will enjoy it."

She added there is no cost for the events, but a donation is gratefully accepted to cover the costs of the CMYC program.

Beth explained why she thinks it's so important for people to come out and to support CMYC.

"For me, it's really, really special because music is one of my passions and so, to get this opportunity to be with a bunch of other people that love music just as much as I do is really, really special. The community around CMYC is also really, really special. We get to spend 2 weekends together. We come in on the first day not knowing anybody, but by the end of the tour, we're all best friends."

Here is a full schedule of performances taking place this weekend.
