The well above normal temperatures that have been inundating west-central Saskatchewan are expected to stick around until at least the weekend.
However, the area will be stuck with a storm today consisting of rain mixed with winds potentially topping out around 80 kilometres per hour.
"Very little in the way of rain, very little accumulation expected, maybe a couple millimetres at best," said Environment and Climate Change Canada Meteorologist Terri Lang. "I think more significant will be the wind coming up in the morning."
The wind will begin out of the southwest before shifting later in the day northwest and diminishing in the overnight period.
Temperatures through Saturday for Swift Current are projected to be in the teens and overnight lows above the freezing mark.
"For this time of year, the records are still running in the mid to high 20s," she said. "So, we shouldn't be surprised to see these warm temperatures.
"It's been quite warm and dry over all of western Canada so that trend is continuing. Those missing the snow will have to wait just a little bit longer."
Kindersley's average daytime high this time of year sits at 11 C and the overnight low is -2 C.
