A local non-profit is hoping the public can help them reach their future goals.
The Drug Strategy Action Committee (DSAC) recently put out a call for board members and volunteers to aid them as they look to increase awareness events in the southwest moving forward.
Andrea Adams, a board member of DSAC, said the board meets once a month between September and June.
"We're looking for community members or professionals that would like to join the board in either a board member capacity or even as volunteers for events forthcoming," she said.
"It's kind of whatever the community member is available for."
Currently, the board has professionals from the Saskatchewan Health Authority and Community Justice Program.
The four pillars the Swift Current-based organization runs on are; prevention, treatment, harm reduction, and community justice.
"[We do] a lot of prevention and awareness about substance abuse in our community," she said. "I think sometimes the stigma around it, people just don't realize how much it's going on and how much it's affecting other community members."
Anyone interested in joining the board or in a volunteering role can contact Lanna at dsacswiftcurrent@gmail.com or call/text Andrea at 306-491-7560.
