After its in-theatre stint was extended twice, The Blind has become the top-grossing release in the history of its distributor, Fathom Events.
According to data at The Numbers, The Blind has grossed north of $15 million, surpassing The Chosen Season Three: Episodes one and two, which grossed over $14 million in 2022.
The movie tells the story of Phil and Kay Robertson long before the fame that came with Duck Dynasty. It focuses on the early days of their marriage and how Phil battled anger and alcoholism before turning to Christ.
“When I ran up on Jesus all those years ago, I didn’t know he’d use a movie about my worst moments to help reach thousands in theirs.” Phil Robertson shared in a social media post.
“From the beginning, we knew how special this film was, and we were eager to support it in the best way possible,” Ray Nutt, CEO of Fathom Events, said to Deadline. “It resonated with so many people, which is why The Blind has had such staying power.”
The Blind will be released on digital home video on Nov. 3 and then on DVD and Blu-ray on Nov. 14.
