City manager confirms 0 block of Main St. due for cast iron replacement

Maryse Carmichael, Moose Jaw’s city manager, confirmed in an interview with DiscoverMooseJaw.com that the 0 block of Main Street is on the cast iron replacement agenda this year. 

Carmichael laid out some of the timeline and explained the measures the city is taking to reduce construction impacts on businesses, tourists, and residents. 

Residents voice concerns at Solid Waste Management Facility open house

The City of Moose Jaw held a couple of open houses yesterday at the Moose Jaw Events Centre to share information about the proposed Solid Waste Management facility. 

The proposed facility, which would replace the current landfill that will reach its end of life in the next four to five years, would be located about two kilometres directly north of Moose Jaw, and west of Highway 2 on two quarter sections of land.

It wasn't that big a deal, had to make an appointment, then he found there wasn't enough room for it. And we made room for it and got it done. But it's a project, is it complete now?

The City of Moose Jaw’s Smart Water Meter Project is now 75 percent complete

The City of Moose Jaw Smart Water Meter replacement project is now 75 percent completed.

The $6.5-million project was approved in 2020 with the aim of updating and replacing all of the approximately 12,500 old water meters within the city. The first meters were installed in November of 2022.

$150 fine for motorists who illegally enter closed roads

The City of Moose Jaw is raising awareness for safe driving practices around work zones in the city. A part of this push for awareness is the addition of a $150 fine for those who fail to detour around work zones. 

The spring construction season is fast approaching, bringing road closures and detours, and the importance of safe driving is paramount.
