Police search for suspect in weekend stabbing
Authorities continue to investigate after nurses at the Altona hospital reported Sunday that a man had come in with stab wounds.
Initially, officers with the Altona Police Service responded but soon learned the incident happened outside of town and, as a result, the file was transferred over to RCMP.

Altona Angels winding up for a new season with development opportunities

The Altona Angels club is winding up for its 2025/26 season with player registration currently underway. The club is also preparing by hosting a series of weekly pitching clinics starting next Saturday, March 8th, with Greg Bouchard.

According to information provided by the Town, a panel, measuring 8 feet by 8 feet, was ripped off this morning. The panel has since been recovered and officials are monitoring closely for any further damage.

Low to moderate risk of flooding expected this spring
There is a low-to-moderate risk of significant flooding in most Manitoba basins this spring, according to the February flood outlook issued Thursday by Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure’s Hydrologic Forecast Centre.
On the Red River and Pembina River, the risk is currently moderate.
For the Roseau River, the risk is low.
Spring flood risk is largely dependent on weather conditions from now until the spring melt and throughout the spring.
