A young man from Stuartburn has died following a two-vehicle crash in Western Manitoba Tuesday morning.
According to RCMP, a gravel truck was struck from behind by a water truck near the intersection of the Trans-Canada Highway and Road 101 West, east of Brandon.
Authorities say the gravel truck was coming up to speed, heading east after turning on to the Trans Canada, when it was hit from behind by a large truck hauling a water tank.
The 22-year-old driver of the water truck, from Tolstoi, suffered minor injuries from the collision, however the 20-year-old male passenger from Stuartburn, died at the scene.
The 59-year-old male driver of the gravel truck, from the R.M. of North Cypress-Langford, was not physically injured.
RCMP say all occupants were wearing their seat belts at the time of the collision.
