One person is dead and another critically injured after a two-vehicle collision on Highway 22 on Sunday evening.

Update: Serious collision closes Highway 22 near Didsbury
A serious motor vehicle collision shut down Highway 22 near Highway 582 on Sunday night, though the scene has since been cleared and all lanes reopened as of 10:50 p.m.
Didsbury RCMP and emergency crews responded to the crash, temporarily closing the highway while police investigated. Motorists were advised to avoid the area.
The cause of the collision has not been released. RCMP previously stated an update would be provided as more information became available.
Update: Police seek missing 13-year-old last seen in Red Deer, may be in Didsbury
The 13-year-old who was reported missing from Red Deer has been located and is safe.
Red Deer RCMP previously issued a request for public assistance after she was last seen in Red Deer on Wednesday, Feb. 26, and was believed to possibly be in the Didsbury, Edmonton or Stettler areas.

Didsbury’s Chief Administrative Officer resigns following closed council meeting
The Town of Didsbury’s Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) has resigned following a special closed council meeting on Feb. 24 that discussed personnel matters.
Council voted to accept Ethan Gorner’s resignation, effective immediately. Gorner served as CAO since January 2020.
"We thank Mr. Gorner for his time and service to the organization and the community," Mayor Rhonda Hunter said in a statement. "We wish him all the best in his future endeavours."

Blowing snow and icy roads are creating dangerous driving conditions along the Queen Elizabeth II (QEII) Highway, prompting a warning from the Didsbury Fire Department.
Emergency responders are urging motorists to slow down and use extra caution as they deal with multiple collisions.
"With blowing snow and icy road conditions, please take extra caution if you have to travel today. Emergency personnel are dealing with collisions on QEII. Give us room to work, and please slow down," the Didsbury Fire Department stated on social media.
