Radio stations across Alberta are coming together to support those impacted by the Jasper Wildfire through the Red Cross.

We’re hosting a province-wide bottle drive: drop off your bottle donations at our station - the ATR Logistics truck will be here as well - from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. With your chance to win prizes for just donating or bring them to any Alberta bottle depot and say, "These are for Jasper."

Rocky View County's Agricultural Societies stepping up in helping wildfire evacuees

The Alberta Association of Agricultural Societies has announced that there are facilities available for wildfire evacuees, several of those facilities are in Rocky View County and neighbouring Mountain View County.

On its website, The Agricultural Society has a map with the location details, as well as what the facilities include and contact details.

Local firefighters rush to help as devastating wildfire reaches town of Jasper

Multiple local fire departments have announced that they have deployed members to Jasper as a devastating wildfire has breached the town. 

Carstairs Fire Department shared that they have sent equipment as well as three members to assist in firefighting efforts, adding they picked up a member from the Didsbury Fire Department, driving through the night to reach the town.

Didsbury couple are now millionaires

A Disbury couple won $5 million in the LOTTO 6/49 draw.

After decades together, Murray and Darlene Timmins will now be set for a long time after their big lottery win. Their winning ticket came from the June 26 draw.

The couple has a routine when it comes to lottery purchases.

“We’ve been playing the same numbers since the 80s,” Darlene said. “They were the same numbers my late father played, as well.

Charges laid in June police standoff north of Airdrie

Alberta Mounties have provided an update on an incident that occurred late last month involving the exchange of gunfire between police and a suspect near Carstairs.

According to Mounties, as a result of the investigation by the Southern Alberta District General Investigation Section and Calgary Police Service into the incidents leading up to the officer-involved shooting, charges have been pursued against a 34-year-old Calgary resident, Stefan Service. 

RCMP seek help identifying suspect in senior fraud case

Didsbury RCMP are investigating after a Didsbury senior was defrauded out of thousands of dollars.

On June 13, Didsbury RCMP received a report about a local senior who got a call from a man claiming to be her grandson. He said he was in jail and needed bail money. Later, a different man came to the senior's home to collect the money in person.
